Struggle

I like sugar ‘cause it’s sweet
And carbs, they calm me down
Grilled hamburgers are a treat
I should be smiling, but see this frown

My belly’s getting bigger
Each year I’m on this earth
When I gaze in the mirror
All I see is expanding girth

So I’m munching on my veges
As I whittle this spare tire
Increasing my daily steps
May I be lithe ere I expire
